Our facial expressions express our emotions and make our face lively and mobile. Botulinum toxin A (Botox ®) is a naturally occurring bacterial protein that specifically blocks the nerve impulses so that the corresponding muscle can no longer be tensed as usual. It is mainly used to treat frown lines, horizontal forehead wrinkles and crow's feet. At the same time, injection with botulinum toxin A (Botox ®) prevents the formation of such wrinkles.
In many cases, those treated appear significantly younger and more relaxed. The facial expression remains natural, because the facial expression is preserved. The full effect is usually achieved after about 14 days and lasts on average four to six months, sometimes longer after repeated injections. Since the treated area always regenerates and no permanent changes occur, the use of botulinum toxin A (Botox ®) is considered a safe medical-cosmetic treatment method.
Injection with botulinum toxin A (Botox ®) can be repeated as often as desired without any problems and can be easily combined with hyaluronic acid for the therapy of wrinkles.
